Beginning Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 22, students in Grades 3–9 will participate in Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing sessions.
The MAP Test is a computerized adaptive assessment that helps teachers, parents, and administrators better understand student learning and make informed decisions to support each student’s academic growth.
Students in Grades 3–9 will be assessed in:
- Reading
- Language Usage
- Mathematics
In addition, students in
Grades 6, 7, and 8 will be assessed in
Science.
EAIS students take MAP assessments twice each year — at the beginning and end of the school year — allowing us to monitor progress over time and adapt learning accordingly.
Understanding Your MAP Results
An important part of our MAP process is helping students take ownership of their learning.
Each student will receive an individual score card showing their performance in relation to their
target scores.
Students will use their score cards to:
- Reflect on their current performance.
- Identify areas of strength and areas for growth.
- Compare their results with their individual targets.
- Set realistic academic goals.
- Develop personal plans for continued improvement and self-development.
Students will be guided through this in classes. This process encourages students to move beyond simply receiving a score and instead
understand their progress, take responsibility for their learning, and set meaningful goals for growth.
Students will also be recognized
individually and by class for their efforts and achievements, so please continue to encourage and support them throughout the testing period!
Students receive regular standardized practice throughout the year to help them become familiar with this type of assessment.
No additional preparation is required before MAP testing.
Testing Arrangements
All MAP assessments will take place during
ICT lessons. Students have already been oriented and provided with all necessary instructions.
Please make sure students attend their scheduled ICT lessons during the testing period.
Please note: In case of absence during a scheduled MAP testing session,
no make-up session will be arranged. Students who are absent will receive an
“Invalid” score on the MAP report.
